Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce that the 2023 annual conference of the
Linguistic Association of Canada and the United States will be held
July 5-7, 2023, at The University of Toledo, in Toledo, Ohio, USA, and
will be hosted by the Department of World Languages and Cultures. The
conference theme is “Linguistics and Communication: Research and
Teaching / Learning”.

Linguistics and communication are two areas of the human experience
that are characterized by both uniformity and ongoing change. The very
nature of linguistics and communication makes them attractive to many
disciplines in the humanities and the social sciences. Both areas
attracted, and continue to attract, scholars from different
disciplines because of their interdisciplinary nature and their
importance in understanding humans, groups and communities. In
addition, research and teaching/learning have a cyclic relationship
where each impacts the other directly and indirectly. This year’s
LACUS conference theme: Linguistics and Communication: Research and
Teaching/Learning, welcomes submissions from all disciplines that look
at topics related to this theme.

Final Call for Papers:

The deadline for submitting abstracts for the LACUS 2023 conference
has been extended to March 15, 2023.

The 2023 annual conference of the Linguistic Association of Canada and
the United States, our 49th annual conference, will be held July 5-7,

hosted by the Department of World Languages and Cultures.

Our plenary speaker this year will be Linda Rouillard of the

restrictive.
