Description:

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at the University of Nevada,
Reno invites applications for a non-tenure-track, continuing Lecturer/Teaching
Assistant Professor position in French with an anticipated start date of July
1, 2023. The successful candidate will teach in the Basic French Language
Program, that is, the first four semesters of the French language sequence.
This is a non-tenure-track, continuing position with opportunities for
promotion. Non-tenure-track faculty in the Department of World Languages and
Literatures teach 24 credits per year, typically 12 credits in each fall and
spring semester. Non-tenure-track faculty additionally participate in
professional development activities and perform service to the department, the
college, and the University. Service associated with this position includes,
but is not limited to, recruitment of majors and minors, in-person advisement
of undergraduate students, and assisting the coordinator of the Basic French
Language Program.

Required Qualifications: 
 - Master’s degree or PhD in French language, literature, linguistics, or a
related field (e.g., second language acquisition) in hand by July 1, 2023.
 - Native or near-native competence in French and English. 
 - Experience teaching beginning and intermediate learners of French.

Preferred Qualifications: 
 - Experience and demonstrated success in recruitment and advisement.
 - Experience of language coordination and supervision.
 - Evidence of attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching
and/or service.
