Meeting Description:

Polarization is a socio-cognitive phenomenon that is being
investigated around the globe by a wide range of disciplines. This
seminar series aims to show this heterogeneity and interdisciplinarity
by promoting the discussion of the diverse methods and approaches
applied to its study. More specifically, focusing on the important
role that the Internet plays in our everyday lives nowadays, the
series addresses the latest research on polarization in digital
discourses from a hybrid critical perspective, inviting our speakers
to present their newest methods, frameworks, and results.

The research project “Polarization and Digital Discourses: Critical
and Socio-Cognitive Perspectives” (PODDS) from University Autónoma of
Madrid is organizing its second online seminar series, to be held
between November 2023 and May 2024 in Google Meet.

This edition will consist of five talks by experts in the field of
Discourse Studies. The presentations will focus on various case
studies of polarized digital discourses. Our keynote speakers are:

Augusto Soares da Silva (Catholic University of Portugal, Braga)
Veronika Koller (Lancaster University)
Eleonora Esposito (Institute for Culture and Society, University of
Navarra)
Andreas Musolff (University of East Anglia)
Laura Filardo-Llamas (University of Valladolid)

To attend the talks, please register (for free) at
forms.office.com/e/G8TnN1WAs9

All talks will be held on Monday mornings and have an approximate
duration of 50 minutes + 10 minutes for Q&As.
