Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, invites applications for a new full-time, tenure-track
position, beginning August 26, 2024.

Qualifications:
We seek outstanding applicants with a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a
related field who apply computational methods to linguistic research.
The specific subfield of specialization in linguistics is open.
Applicants with primary or secondary specialization in computational
linguistics, phonology or language contact are especially encouraged
to apply, although we will also strongly consider outstanding
applicants in other subfields. A PhD degree must be awarded before the
start of the appointment.

Applicants should provide evidence of a productive research record and
show potential for external funding of their research program. The
successful candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum
development in their areas of expertise, and teach and mentor
undergraduate and graduate students in linguistics, in particular
regarding computational approaches to linguistics and computational
modeling of linguistic processes and language cognition.

 - a letter of application (cover letter)
 - a curriculum vitae
 - a statement of current and future research plans
 - a statement of teaching philosophy and experience
 - evidence of teaching excellence
 - a diversity statement demonstrating commitment to diversity,
equity, and inclusion through scholarship/research, teaching/mentoring
and/or service/engagement
 - up to three representative publications or other research writings
 - contact information for three recommenders.

Recommenders for an initial shortlist of applicants will be contacted
later to submit recommendations online
