Description:

We are seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer within CHL Linguistics to
engage with stakeholders in Melanesia, produce high quality linguistic
research, strengthen our core teaching and supervise higher degree
research students. The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will report to
Associate Professor Danielle Barth and work closely linguistics staff
and students in both the College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the
College of Arts and Social Sciences, as well as other colleagues in
CAP.

In this role you will be responsible for teaching in your expertise
areas, especially in Linguistic Field Methods and Papuan Languages,
supervise PhD, Masters and Honours Students, attract category 1, 2,
and 3 funding, and continue ANU’s research excellence.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate will have a Phd in Linguistics or a related field
with experience in linguistic documentation and description in
Melanesia. You will have demonstrated experience in research, teaching
and supervision.  To excel in this role, you will also have expertise
in related work that will strengthen the modern offerings and research
in our linguistics program, supporting crucial new developments in the
field, particularly computationally-based approaches to language data.
