ABOUT THE ROLE

The Department of Linguistics, within the School of Languages,
Linguistics and Film, is looking to appoint a Lecturer specialising in
syntactic theory, complementing department strengths linking to
morphology, semantics, and typology. The department additionally has
interests in interfaces to computational approaches and under-studied
languages (endangered, heritage, and bilingualism).

Duties will include research, publication, convening and teaching BA
and MA modules, (co-)supervision of PhD students, and administrative
roles as required within the Department. The successful candidate will
be able to develop new modules and adapt existing ones in line with
their research strengths. High-quality research and publications
(appropriate to career stage) are also expected.

ABOUT YOU

You will hold a PhD in Linguistics with a specialization in syntax
and/or its interfaces or have a relevant professional qualification or
equivalent professional experience, together with the ability to
deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate
levels, and to publish in key journals. The ability to work
constructively and flexibly with colleagues is essential, as are good
organisational and communicative skills.
