Description:
The Talent+ Internship is for motivated people whose future education
and/or work opportunities are constrained by personal, financial,
regional, or societal issues.

Successful applicants will come to the Max Planck Institute for
Psycholinguistics (Nijmegen, The Netherlands) for a six-month paid
internship that includes training in topics such as statistics,
programming, and open science, lab tours of the various lab facilities
at the MPI, and networking opportunities as well as practice with an
experimental technique (e.g., behavioral testing, eye-tracking, EEG,
wet-lab, motion tracking, VR). The internship is specifically aimed at
people who wish to further pursue a career in academia.

The internship will be conducted in one of the following departments
or research groups at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics:
Language Development Department, Psychology of Language Department,
Multimodal Language Department, Language and Genetics Department,
LEADS Research Group, LaCNS Research Group, Imaging Genomics, The
Communicative Brain.

Applicants should specify which department or research group they want
their internship to be embedded in, and a suitable supervisor will be
selected accordingly.

The 6-month internship scheme specifically addresses motivated
researchers who have a BA or MA degree and would like pursue a PhD,
but are constrained by personal, financial, regional, or societal
issues that negatively affect their future education and/or work
opportunities.

Positions are open to candidates who:
 - Have a MA/MSc degree (or equivalent 6-year BA/BSc degree) but are
not yet enrolled in a PhD program
 - Have a background in a field relevant to the research conducted at
the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistcs (e.g., linguistics,
languages, psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or any other
related field)
 - Have a good command of the English language
 - Can express their motivation in terms of general motivation for
research, specific motivation for the research conducted at the MPI,
and academic initiative, among others.
 - Have strong reasons why their access to highly funded institutions
is constrained. In particular, we prioritize candidates who:
 - Are unlikely to have accessed similar opportunities already
 - Will benefit their future career in research based on the training
we offer
 - Are available for the entire duration of 6 months, starting in the
first week of September 2024
