Description:

At the Department of Psycholinguistics and Didactics of German,
Faculty of Modern Languages, at Goethe University Frankfurt, the
position of a Research associate (m/f/d)) (E13 TV-G-U, 65% part time)
is to be filled on 01 April 2024 within the project C04: “The role of
non-linguistic cognitive abilities in children’s negation processing”
(PIs: Prof. Dr. Angela Grimm, Prof. Dr. Barbara Kaup, Dr. Yvonne
Portele).

The project is part of the CRC 1629 “Negation in Language and Beyond
(NegLaB)”. The position will be non-permanent until 31 December 2027.
The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective
agreement (TV-G-U) applicable to Goethe University.

The responsibilities of the position include collaboration and
scientific services in research within the project C04. The project
explores the interaction of executive functions and theory of mind and
linguistic factors in the comprehension and production of negation in
children (aged 3 to 7 years) and adults.

Specifically, the following tasks are expected of the position holder:
 - design, implementation, and analysis of behavioral studies
 - participation in the planning and analysis of eye-tracking studies
 - instruction of student assistants
 - coordination of tests sessions
 - presentation and publication of project results

Requirements:
 - completed academic university degree (Master) in a relevant field
with a linguistic, psycholinguistic, or psychological focus
 - very good language skills in German (C1) and English (C1)
 - proficient in common software (MS Office, reference management)
 - ability to work independently, interest in teamwork, and excellent
communication skills
 - demonstrable interest in child language acquisition and/or language
processing in children
 - knowledge of planning and conducting psycholinguistic experiments
 - knowledge of statistics is advantageous.
