Meeting Description:

The Florida Linguistics Yearly Meeting is inviting calls for
abstracts. FLYM is a theoretically and computationally oriented
conference, although consideration will also be given to experimental
(psycho/neuro) linguistics. Additionally, FLYM 2024 is excited to host
a keynote speaker, Charles Yang from the University of Pennsylvania.

Call for Papers:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Florida is
delighted to invite submissions for the Florida Linguistics Yearly
Meeting (FLYM) to be held on April 19 & 20. Because this is the first
meeting since the pandemic, the theme for this year’s conference is
New Beginnings. Previously, FLYM has been a theoretically oriented
conference, but this year, in the spirit of this theme, we will be
welcoming submissions in theoretical, experimental, and computational
linguistics. The conference will include sessions for talks (10 - 15
minutes with 5 - 10 minutes of Q&A) and posters.

This year, we are also excited to announce that our keynote speaker
will be Charles Yang (University of Pennsylvania).

Deadline:
Abstracts will be due at 11:59pm anywhere in the world on March 8.
Applicants will be notified of acceptances by mid-March, and the
program will be finalized at the end of March.

Abstract Guidelines:
Abstracts should be at most 500 words, excluding references.
Text should be written in 12 point font with no less than single
spacing. Margins should be 1 inch wide.
Examples, graphs, and charts should be interspersed within the text
instead of being placed at the end.
Submissions will be limited to 2 per author, with at most 1 being
single-authored.
The abstract must not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any way.

Submissions Instructions:
Please submit all abstracts through Easyabs:
