Canadian AI 2013 Call for Workshop Proposals

The Program Committee of the twenty-sixth Canadian Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI’2013)
solicits proposals for workshops in all areas and topics pertaining to AI to be held on May 28th, 2013,
immediately preceding the main conference.

Workshops addressing emerging research directions in AI are highly encouraged. We are particularly
seeking workshops presenting up and coming novel ideas in the field of AI with opportunity to
crystalize new communities outside the main common stream of AI.

The main goal of the AI’2013 workshops is to facilitate active interchange of ideas both theoretical
and applied, in the general areas related to Artificial Intelligence. The workshops will provide an
informal setting where participants will have the opportunity to discuss specific technical topics in
an atmosphere that fosters such exchanges.

The workshop organizers will be responsible for advertising the workshop, forming the program committee,
reviewing and selecting papers in a transparent way, and deciding on the final program. Workshop
organizers will also be responsible for publishing their own proceedings.

Workshops may be full-day or half-day. A full-day workshop should ideally include between 10-12 regular
papers, while a half-day workshop would consist of 5-6 regular papers.

A workshop proposal should include the following information:

1- The name of the workshop.
2- The names, addresses, and a short bio of the organizers.
3- Scope, topics, and a brief description of the technical issues that the workshop will address, and the
reasons why the workshop is of interest at this time.
4- The names of potential program committee members (could be tentative PC) [optional].
5- The planned format of the workshop (papers, demos, panels, etc.)
7- The names of the potential keynote speakers [optional], if a keynote speech is included in the
   planned format of the workshop.
8- If applicable, a description of past versions of the workshop, including dates, organizers, number
of submitted and accepted papers, number of attendees.
9- An estimate of the expected number of submitted and accepted papers, and of the expected number of
   attendees.
10-A description of the plans for publicity (CFP, submission and notification deadlines, etc.)

The deadlines for the workshpop proposals are as follows:

Workshop proposal submission: Jan 16, 2013
Notification of acceptance of proposal: Jan 21, 2013
Workshop: May 28, 2013

Workshop proposals or inquiries should be sent to the AI-2013 Program co-chairs:
Sandra Zilles, zilles AT cs.uregina.ca, and Osmar Zaiane, zaiane AT cs.ualberta.ca

We look forward to receiving your proposal !
