Subject: Websites on LowSaxon and NorthFrisian in 20th Century

Moin, Moin, Leeve Lued,

I have stumbled across the online version of a series run by on of the big
newspapers in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.

There are currently 36 instalments all dealing with various aspects of
Schleswig-Holstein history in the 20th Century.
This can be found via the index at:
http://www.shz.de/shzde/jhdstory/index.html

Two of these instalments should be most interesting to the group:
No 19: "Die (nord)friesische Volksgruppe im 20. Jahrhundert"
(Language politics and culture of the North Friesians in the 20th century)
No 22: "Niederdeutsch in Schleswig-Holstein im 20. Jahrhundert"
http://wwwshz.de/shzde/jhdstory/html/archiv/folge22.html

(The development of LowSaxon yes they still sadly call it Niederdeutsch in
20th Century Schleswig-Holstein). The articles are all written in German and
have extra appendixes with bibliographies and extra illustrations which can be
accessed via the index.

I hope this is of interest to some of you.

Tschuess

Hauke
