Baie dankie vir die twee uitvoerige lyste met Engelse vanne van
Suid-Afrikaanse families wat bekend staan as Afrikaanssprekend! Dit het
my
verwagtings oortref om te sien dat dit so baie families is en dat daar
'n
lys bestaan. Dit is ook interessant dat jy jou inligting het van Cor
Pama.
Wyle Cor Pama is in Nederland ook goed bekend as genealoog, sowel as
voorstitter van die Nederlandse Vereniging in Sui-Afrika.

Marcel, die een lys wat ek gestuur het sluit net die vanne vanaf A - L
in.  M-Z kom nog; ek sal dit mettertyd vir julle aanstuur.

Ek wil my verstout om te sê dat die Afrikaanssprekendes met 'Engelse'
vanne grootendeels mense is wat hierheen gekom het voor 1900. Dalk kan
'n genealoog my verkeerd bewys.

Dit is nogal opvallend dat baie Iere teen die Britse magte in die
Anglo-Boere-Suid-Afrikaanse-Oorlog geveg het. Daar was terloops ook
Russiese troepe wat vir die Boere geveg het; hulle was sterk
anti-Empire.
