Dear Lowlanders,

I just heard back from Anthony Aristar at LINGUIST regarding the problem of
double sending.  He mentions this:

"There was a time last night when double messages might have gone out.
But they shouldn't be today, though some might still be winding their
way through the ether.  Tell me if anything appears dated after
11:00 am this morning."

"You might warn your people that if anyone is using the address
<lowlands-l at linguist.ldc.upenn.edu> it's about to vanish."

The address Anthony is referring to was an alternative to the usual address
<lowlands-l at listserv.linguistlist.org>.  This alternative address will be
defunct, but the usual address will remain.

Please also note the new setup in our weekly online archives (to which you get
get via <http://listserv.linguistlist.org/archives/lowlands-l.html>.  You can
press buttons on the top of the page to customize the sorting of the postings
by author, topic or date, also in chronological order with most recent
postings showing first or last.  You can have the authors' names shown or
hidden, can show or hide the table of contents, can press a button to go to
search mode and another button if you want to join or leave Lowlands-L.  To
find out what button does what (in case the symbols don't make it clear to
you), just position the cursor on top of any botton without depressing any
mouse button, and a descriptive label (in English) will appear.
