Dear Lowlanders,

As of today I am back at the steering wheel of Lowlands-L.  As you know, I was
not totally gone, just busy moving house, too busy to deal with some tasks like
running lists.  Fortunately, as you will all agree, Sandy Fleming (Scotland >
England) took over for the past three weeks.  And what a terrific job he did!  I
truly believe that this calls for a major round of applause to honor and thank
him.  Kudos also to whoever, if anyone, that helped Sandy across any linguistic
hurdles, if there were any.  Last but certainly not least, thanks to Roger Thijs
(Belgium) for offering backup help for the duration of my "absence."  Of course,
I am delighted to have such willing and able helpers in the wings also in the
future.

Please allow me to take this opportunity to welcome those of you who subscribed
to Lowlands-L during the past three weeks of so.  We have quite a few of new
subscribers, from as "far" afield as Canada (British Columbia), England, Japan,
Lithuania, the Netherlands (Flevoland, Fryslân), Portugal, Russia, South Africa,
Spain, Thailand, Ukraine, and the USA (Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts,
Pennsylvania, Texas).  "Welcome aboard!" to each and every one one of them.
