Subject: "Online resources"

[The following is in Scots and in English]

"The Merry Muses o Caledonia" is up on ScotsteXt nou. Thir's bawdy sangs,
maist o them ti weel-kent Socts tuins, that wis fund in a jotter belangin
bi
Burns whan his belangins wis went throu efter his daith. Tak tent that this

collection isna richt for bairns nor for thame that's aesy affrontit bi
this
kin o thing.

As weel as this, the "Previews" section o ScotsteXt is active the nou, wi a

anthology o Scots humour (poems, sangs, stories, plays an anecdotes) pitten

thegither bi the weel-likit elocutionist A B Harley.

Anither beuk bein inpit ablo "Previews" the nou is "Mains an Hilly", a
muckle collection o dialogues in the Aiberdeenshire dialeck o Scots, leukin

at different aspecks o life in Aiberdeenshire in the late 19t or aerly 20t
century.

A'm awaur that ScotsteXt disna hae eneuch o backgrund details for the beuks

that's up on it the nou. This'll be sortit suiner nor syne, but for the nou

the main ettle is ti get a representative collection o texts up. Ae
important thing that's still wantin is a guid collection o nursery rhymes -

ance A'v got that sortit A'll can spend mair time on pittin in historical
an
biographical information.

[English]

"The Merry Muses of Caledonia" is now available on ScotsteXt. This is a
collection of bawdy songs, most of them set to well-known Scottish
melodies,
that was discovered in a notebook found amonst in Burns's personal effects
on his death. Please not that this collection isn't suitable for children
or
the easily offended.

As well as this, the "Previews" section of ScotsteXt is currently active,
with an anthology of Scots humour (poems, songs, stories, plays and
anecdotes) collected by the popular elocutionist A B Harley.

Another book currently being input below "Previews" is "Mains an Hilly", a
huge collection of dialogues in the Aberdeenshire dialect of Scots,
examining different aspects of life in Aberdeenshire in the late 19th or
early 20th century.

I know that ScotsteXt is short on background for the books that are
available, but this will be put right, once I get a representative
collection of texts up. One thing that's still missing is a good collection

of nursery rhymes - once I've put up such a collection I'll be able to
spend
more time putting in historical an biographical information.
