Matthew Fitt's eagerly awaited novel in Scots, But n Ben A-Go-Go, is to
be published by Luath on Monday 11 September. Set in a distinctly unbonnie
future-Scotland, it was picked by Scotland on Sunday as one of the best
books of the year (10 months before publication!) & momentum has been
growing by word of mouth ever since.

Do come along to the launch in Edinburgh, or one of the subsequent
events, & do enjoy the book. Details follow. Please forward to all & sundry.

BUT N BEN A-GO-GO is Word Power book of the month for October 2000

poetry in Scots' JAMES ROBERTSON, Edinurgh International Book Festival 2000

'A cracker' GERALDINE BRENNAN, Times Educational Supplement

'After an initial shock, readers of this sprightly and imaginative tale
will begin to relish its verbal impetus, where a standard Lallans, laced with
bits of Dundonian and Aberdonian, is stretched and skelped to meet the demands
of cyberjannies and virtual hoorhooses . I recommend an
entertaining and groundbreaking book.' EDWIN MORGAN

'Matthew Fitt's instinctive use of Scots is spellbinding' ELLIE McDONALD

'Easier to read than Shakespeare - twice the fun' DES DILLON
