A chairde,

Ian's post reminded me that the University of Ulster
here in Derry has just opened a new Ulster-Scots
facility, the first of its kind so far as I
understand. Its initiation is a very welcome addition
to the cultural diversity of the island of Ireland. A
brief introduction to the Board of Ulster Scots can be
found at:

http://www.ulst.ac.uk/students.phtml

I also noticed when I visited Derry City central
library last month there was a "Languages of Ireland"
display focusing on Irish Gaelic and Ulster Scots with
equal coverage, and a short vocabulary and background,
including their respective places on the Indo-European
family tree. I found the display to be a delightful
expression of the linguistic diversity of the city and
I only wish it had remained as a permanent exhibition.
Did your agency have a hand in its inception, Ian?
Well done, if it did.

Gan ár dteangacha, cá bhfuil sinn? Sláinte go maith ar
Albannais-Ultaigh.

Go raibh maith agaibh,

Críostóir.
