Cristoir,

The text about Ulster-Scots was indeed written by
yours truly on behalf of the Linenhall Library in
Belfast. It's a good exhibition - usually it includes
the languages of ethnic minorities as well.

One has to be very careful reading things about
Ulster-Scots - as usual in Ireland, a lot of things
are passed off as 'fact' before they've been properly
researched (or even in the presence of quite
compelling evidence to the contrary!) Certainly there
is a tendency for some words to be described as
'Ulster-Scots words' when this actually means that
they are *used* in Ulster-Scots - not necessarily that
they derive from it. However, I can assure you the
text for that exhibition was researched! My
