On the other hand, a "keeker" in Scots is a black eye!

"Mum" as a verb is, of course, not much used nowadays. I would take it to
mean what "mummers" do. More importantly, the word "pantomime" has shifted
its meaning so that in Britain, in the theatrical sense, it is no longer a
mimed drama but a Christmas holiday entertainment based on one of  a small
number of traditional stories (Aladdin, Mother Goose, Jack and the
Beanstalk, Cinderella, Dick Whittington, ...).
