Subject: Administrativa

Dear Lowlanders,

If all goes according to plan, Sandy Fleming will be temporarily taking over
the running of Lowlands-L beginning this coming Wednesday (June 6, i.e.,
tomorrow for most of you reading this).  Sandy has done this before while I
was travelling abroad, and he kindly agreed to do it again while I undergo
surgery and recover from it.  (It is nothing life-threatening or
super-serious, and it is elective to a degree, though no type of surgery ought
to be taken lightly.)  My surgery is scheduled for Thursday morning, so I will
be in the wings on the first day of Sandy's tenure.  If all goes very well, I
should be back about 7-10 days later.  (I have asked people to keep me away
from computers as long as I am on narcotic pain medication.  Should you get
particularly strange messages from me any earlier -- and I mean even stranger
than usual -- it would probably mean that I broke loose.)

Many thanks to Sandy in advance, and many thanks to all of you for your
continued support and cooperation.
