I've gotta say... The original poem in French sucks
(no offense, anyone), but the translations are
absolutely fascinating and very instructive.  I love
the two Low Saxon versions.  Put me on the train to
Twente today...

its easy to read for me

but then again , I am a Frisian ... born and raised with the laguage  the
old frisian and the new frisian ....

Ons laatste adem blazen uit.

Ik heb ook het eerste woord van de Franse tekst verbeterd: zelfs als het een
hoofdletter is, krijgt de a als voorzetsel een accent: À tout moment.

This makes me wonder: who wrote the original French version and is it
part of a larger poem? Also, is the "poetic" Dutch poem above a separate
poem on the same theme or is it being offered as a free translation of
the original?
