Subject: vervanging nieuwsgroep Limburgs
Omdat:
"veldeke" ter vervanging van klitsjeei at egroups.com

veldeke-subscribe at yahoogroups.com
veldeke at yahoogroups.com
Afmelding met gewoon een e-mailtje aan:
veldeke-unsubscribe at yahoogroups.com

 klitsjeei-unsubscribe at onelist.com

Subject: language lists

Some discussions are on-going in romance-language lists (walloon,
picard) wether or not one should stay with yahoo (who recently toke over
e-groups (onelist)) for free-of-charge discussion groups concerning
regional languages.

The disaventage is that each message in these lists entails publicity
messages, banners, hyperlinks that put one back on-line when reading
off-line, etc.

Does someone know of list formulas that allow to post (unmoderated)
messages free of external publicity, easy to set up and at no cost or at
least at low cost?

Thanks and regards,
Roger Thijs

Roger, Lowlanders,

I suggest you consider shifting to the LINGUIST server
(http://linguistlist.org/). The folks at LINGUIST are interested in
hosting respectable language-related discussion lists, and I believe that
unmoderated formats are acceptable. Their server is very powerful and
permits many modes and choices for both owners and subscribers. You should
contact Anthony Aristar (aristar at linguistlist.org) who will give you the
information you need and would help you get set up should you decide to
shift to their server and they agree to have your list(s). Lowlands-L
moved to that server about two years ago, and I have been very pleased so
far. Certainly, there is no commercial advertising.

On another note, thanks to everyone for their translations of my
communication with owners of sites with which I intend to link our sites.
I have versions in the following languages: Afrikaans, English, Frisian,
German, Low Saxon (of Germany), Scots and Zeelandic. I still need a
translation in Dutch and in Limburgish, and in any other language variety
people care to contribute. Here is the text again:

"Hello! We have added a link to your page/site on our list of links at
({URL}). We would appreciate it if you would link back to this list and to
our Lowlands-L homepage ({URL}). Thank you, and best wishes."

Regards,
Reinhard/Ron
