A maun admeet I finnd it mair better an aa. Better bad rhymes or bad Scots!

Its certies no sae sair on the een;-)

A canna richt mak up ma mynd whither sic like is gaun ower the score or no.

Akis A pit the oreeginal versions (the version a teuk it fae) on ma steid
fowk micht juist accuse me o Scottifeein whit wisna 'richt' Scots oniewey.
Yer richt aboot lattin fowk ken hou tae soond Scots richt. The day A hear a

bodie on the telly soond Tae a Haggis richt is the day A'll be pit awa for
lowpin aboot like a gyte tyke - Yuil, birthday an a lottery jackpot aa on
the same day;-)

Onie wey this is whit A wad hae duin wi't:

AULD REEKIE, wale o ilka toun
That _Scotland_ kens aneath the muin!
Whaur couthie chiels at eenin meet
Thair bizzin _craigs_ an _mous_ tae weet;
An blythlie gar auld care gae by
Wi blinkit an wi bleerin ee
Ower lang frae thee the Muse haes been
Sae friskie on the _Simmer's_ green,
Whan flouers an gowans wint tae glent
In bonnie blinks upo' the bent,
But nou the _leafs_ o yallae dye
Peelt frae the _brainches_, quicklie flee;
An nou frae mouther buss nor brier*
The spreckelt _mavis_ greets your ear;
Nor bonnie blackbird _skims_ an _roves_
Tae seek his luve in yonder groves.

      Then _Reekie_, walcome! Thoo canst chairm
Unfleggit bi the year's alairm;
No Boreas, that sae snellie blaws,**
Daur here pap in his angrie nose:
Thanks tae oor _dads_, whase biggin staunds
A shelter tae surroondin launds.***

* A conseeder brier - ear a rhyme for EH Scots /bri:r/ - /i:r/ - tho did
Fergie no come fae Aiberdeen?
Whit dis 'mouther' mean?
**A jalouse for some fowk blaws an nose micht coud be a rhyme.
***Merk Scotland, laund. The 'laund' in Scotland is for ordinar
/skotl at n(d)/, alane /lAn(d)/ or /lOn(d)/ (SAMPA) hence the street
Lawnmarket
in EH = Laund Mercat.

A'm sair naur giein up ma pendantic uiss o -ie an -lie for adjectives an
adverbs an gaun ower tae -y an -ly, lea'in -ie an -lie for diminutives an
sindrie nouns.
A think fowk will finnd it juist that wee bittie mair fameeliar an sae
easier tae read.
