Leve Leeglanners,

An d'n tokamenen Sünnavend, d'n 3. Nevelmaand, wardt us Liddmaat Clara
Kramer-Freudenthal (Clara.Kramer at t-online.de) 82 Jahr old! Ik graleer
ehr in d'n Naam vun all de Lowlands-L-Liddmaten un wünsch ehr gaue
Beternis. (Se is nu al 'n paar Maanden lang süük.)

As 'n Barg mang Ju al weten doot, hett "mien" Tant Clara ehr egene
Website, up de ik ehr neddersassischen (nedderdüütschen) Vertellen,
Riemels un Rezepten uutstell, ook ingelsch översett. De findt Ji hier:
http://www.geocities.com/sassisch/rhahn/kramer/
http://www.online.sh/freudenthal/
http://www.online.sh/freudenthal/

Nu bün ik al lang nich mehr daarto kamen neje (un ole) Vertellen
bitodoon, wiel dat 't bi mi lesttieds besünners drock togahn is. As ik
ehr dütt Jahr in'n Harvstmaand in Norddüütschland besöök (un wat 'n
vergnööglichen Namiddag dat was!), heff ik Tant Clara verspraken so
draad' as mööglich tominnst ehr twee Vertellen över ehr Broders in 't
Nett to doon, twee Vertellen, de ehr besünners veel bedüden doot. Dat
eerste is nu fardig, un Ji köönt Ju dat ankieken. Dat findt Ji, wenn Ji
na de Inholdsangaav' gaht un denn baven d'n Titel "Broder Ninne" (mit
"Nee" antekent) anklickt.

Ik mutt Ju man bloots wahrschuen: Wat to'n Smüüstern is düt Vertellen
nich. Lichtfardig is mi düsse Arbeid ook nich vun de Hand gahn; dat
mutt ik ingestahn. Ik weett sülmst, wo gresig dat för so 'n Pööks is,
wenn de grote, vullwassene Broder (or Süster) mit 'n Maal dood blifft,
un dat Vertellen röög' ole Wunnen bi mi an. Un Tant Clara hett dat
sogaar tweimaal beleevt! Dat tweede Vertellen, liek so trurig, un 'n
Wiehnachtsvertellen, will ik vör Wiehnachten fardig kriegen.

Happy birthday, Tant Clara!
Reinhard/Ron

Dear Lowlanders,

Our member Clara Kramer-Freudenthal (Clara.Kramer at t-online.de) is going
to turn 82 this coming Saturday, November 3! I want to say "Happy
birthday!" and wish her speedy recovery on behalf of the entire
Lowlands-L membership. (She has been ill for a few months now.)

As many of you may already know, "my" Auntie Clara has her own website,
at which I display her Low Saxon (Low German) stories, poems and
recipes, with my English translations. You will find it here:
http://www.geocities.com/sassisch/rhahn/kramer/
http://www.online.sh/freudenthal/
http://www.online.sh/freudenthal/

Because I have been especially busy lately, I had not gotten to add now
(and old) stories in quite some time. When I visited her in Northern
Germany in September of this year (and what an enjoyable afternoon it
was!) I promised Auntie Clara to hurry up and post, at the very least,
the two stories about her brothers, two stories that mean especially
much to her. The first one is finished, and you can now view it. You
will find it when you go to the table of contents and click on the title
_Broder Ninne_ / _My Brother Ninne_ on top (marked by "New").

I have to warn you though: it is no amusing story. I must admit that I
did not have an easy time handling it. From my own experience I know
just how traumatic the sudden death of an elder, adult brother (or
sister) is for a young child, and it touched old wounds of mine. And
Auntie Clara has gone through this twice! I hope to finish the second
story by Christmas. It is just as sad, and it is especially suitable
for the Christmas season.

Happy birthday, Tant Clara!
Reinhard/Ron
