Dear Kevin,

The following is from Dr. Jack Thiessen's dictionary of Plautdietsch:
(Plautdietsch is a former dialect of the area near and around Danzig)

Flohm, Floom - m. & n. Nieren und Darmfett der Schweine; ebenfalls
Schmalzfett beim Vogelvieh. The fat around animals' kidneys or
intestines; fat of fowl. ahd./ohg: nd./LG. vloom, vlaum.

Cheers!

Reuben
