Hi everyone,

In this same context, I am allready wondering for a long time, whether
there
exists a map on which the extension of Prussian toponyms in Germany is
explained.
Can somebody help me with this?

Hi Fiete,
Here in Scotland along the east coast we have quite a few towns and
villages
which are named after 17th Century Dutch Merchants who settled here. The
most famous is "John 'O Groates" which is the most northerly point on
the
British mainland, this place takes it's name from Johann De Groot. Based
on
this principle "Poot's Dam" sounds like the most reasonable explanation
?

Ross

Min Froog:

Wat meent "Jork" or "York" (*New York*, schall P. Stuyvesant grünn't
