in oostende gebruiken we altijd het woord katteie voor de dijkglooiing
(het
stenen gedeelte van de zeedijk).
sommigen zeggen ook dat de golfbrekers de katteien zijn. Is dit dezelfde
oorsprong als kateil? - havenhoofd?

Moin, Luc,

an interesting phonological similarity to "Kattuul".

I had some difficulties with the word "Fahrhabe" (no longer used in G.
languages, as far as I know), till I found out that it must be the (UG)
"Mobilie", (E) "movable goods" (e.g. cattle, equipment), the opposite of
(UG) "Immobilie", (E) "not movable goods" (buildings, land).

But I didn't succeed with "Besthaupt", though it's making a sense to me.
Could it at least be something like (French) "suprème de..." (yes,
"...de...- what"?)?
