In American English, there are nor'easters, the big winter storms that
are caused by a low pressure system moving up the east coast of the US.
And in Southern California they have the Santa Ana winds that bring hot,
dry air from the deserts.  We also talk about Arctic blasts and cold
Canadian air masses.  And of course, every hurricane gets its own name.
