Subject: "smut filter"

Hi Ron,

I haven't submitted anything for a few months now, but since I work at a
high
school we do have some sort of filter, but I don't think it would effect
"strong"
language, as I am able to get onto the "leo.org" site in German and there
are
some "strong" vocabulary words contained in there. If it is me, is there
anything
I can do to stop you from having minor headaches?

Thanks for responding, Kevin.

As I said, I have no way of knowing whom this filter is supposed to protect,
and I do not really feel inclined to test it by sending you a private message
containing some not so polite words (which I am not in the habit of doing).
Even if this tested positive, I cannot see how we could change things, because
you receive your mail via your school's server. I knew of browser filters.
This is the first time I have come across an email filter. I just find it
crummy that the filter's automated message does not identify the message or
the intended recipient. At this point I just count myself lucky that this
happens only once in a while and only with one subscriber (who must be using
English language software). The disadvantage of such filters in the case of
Lowlands-L (or any other multilingual discussion group) is that a word may be
perfect "clean" in one language and "dirty" in another language.

Regards,
Reinhard/Ron

P.S.:
Xin nian kuai le, Happy (Chinese) New Year, the Year of the Horse, to
everyone!

and may you reach your goals with great speed!"
