Hi Ron,

it is indeed a ridge, for I have known two of these dogs well enough to
feel
it (not being allergic and all). It's a bit like a short mohawk (which
they
would have brushed down for a dog show, I suppose). It's basically like
their "hackles" are permanently standing on edge.
But we're digressing... :-)
