Dear Lowlanders!
I have a simple question and I don't know whether it had ever been
discussed
here. It sounds like that: why doesn't English have genders in its
grammar,
though all the languages (Germanic, Scandinavic, Romance, Celtic) that
took
participation in forming English have them? At what stage of its
development
has it lost genders?
