Dutch (and Flemish) still have the form _woonste_ for house or home. It
's
pretty old-fashioned though.

This should have been ... Dutch /woon-/, since /w/ and /v/ appear to be
separate phonemes in Dutch.

I vaguely remember coming across Low Saxon (Low German) _Wahnstee_ (or
written differently, < /vaan-/ + /stee(d(e))/, literally "dwelling
stead."  It, too, seems really archaic.
