Hi all

Yes, a favorite kids' question here is 'Why could the icebear and penguin
not meet?
Because the one is in the Arctic and the other in the Antarctic.

Cheers,
Elsie Zinsser

many persons that these birds are inhabitants ONLY of the Antarctic
regions.
In fact, there are penguins living in a number of more temperate places,
and
I believe that South Africa is a habitat for at least one species.

Haai almal

Kevin dis vir my amper logies dat die sagter geronde p e q u e n o (in
Portugees)
langsamerhand na 'n harder en minder geronde [p @ k W @ W E i n @ ]
en eventueel [p at k@vein@ ] verskuif het.

Ander voorbeelde om dit te verduidelik:
aqua > akwa
bugger > bokker
quitte > kwits

Groete kleinboet!

Subject: etymology

about the Afrikaans word "pikkewyn." And no one responded to my "drunk bird"
hypothesis.
Elsie: Wat dink jy "ervaan?"

Groetjes!
