Here's the Scots version:

Clap, clap handies,
Mammie's wee wean,
Clap, clap handies,
Daddie's comin hame.
Hame til his laddie,
Bonny wee bit laddie,
Clap, clap handies,
Mammie's wee wean!

wee - little
wean - little one, child
hame - home
til - to
bonny - pretty, good-looking

You can find his and other nursery rhymes with "actions" in my mailing at:

Haai almal!

Baie dankie vir die 'Klap julle handjies', Gabrielle. (Dit was Gabrielle,
reg?)
Ek het die koördinasie speletjie met my kinders gespeel. Nou geniet my
wonderlike kleinseun dit ook.

In DJ Opperman se Nuwe Kleuterverseboek (1958; heruitgegee 1982) is daar
verskeie aksierympies in Afrikaans:

1.
Met my hande klap, klap, klap,
met my voete stap, stap, stap,
Ek kan my knieë knik, knik
met my vingers tik, tik.
Altwee arms lig ek op,
daarmee raak ek aan my kop,
met my mond tel ek tot tien,
met my oë kan ek sien,
alles om my kan ek hoor,
want ek luister met my oor!
My speelgoed sal ek sommer los,
want my neusie ruik die kos!
(Rika Nel)

2 Aanraakliedjie

Handjies klap,
voetjies stap,
ogies kyk,
neusie snuit,
mondjie fluit,
kennebak,
gorrelgat,
doedelsak!

3

Met my voetjies stap, stap, stap,
met my handjies klap, klap, klap,
op die een been hop, hop, hop,
op die skouer klop, klop, klop.

Groete!
Elsie Zinsser

If there is anything we wish to change in the child, we should first examine
it and see whether it is something that could better be changed in
ourselves.
