Beste leeglanners,

A shift similar to the one that seems to be occurring in English (familiar
terms like "mom" and "dad" becoming more common than "mother" and "father"),
has been taking place in Brabantish as well during the last 20 years or so.
Not so long ago it was considered standard speech to use the terms "mojjer"
and "voor" for "moeder" and "vader".
Just like the word "waëf" (B) for "wife" (E), "vrouw" (D) has fallen into
disuse (it became slang), the same is happening with "mojjer" and "voor".
And thus "mama" and "papa" can often be heard these days, even among adults.
Obviously, it's not only computer programs that seem to be upgrading
constantly *s*.
Greetings,

Luc Hellinckx
