Wij hebben misschien een oorsprong voor "greena Donadach" gevonden.
Dit zull zijn dat "greene" of "Gruendonnerstag" op hoogduitse tal een
evolutie van "greenen" of "greinen" ---Weinen, cry, --- ist gewest, zo
een dag voor boetjes.
Een tweede mogelijkheid is "Groentje Donderdag", or "Vegetable
Thursday", een dag zonder vlees, wanneer een enkelt maaltijd van
groentjes was te eten. "Maundy Thursday" kwam uit latijnse "Dies
Mandatum".
