extrapolatit for expository Scots (gin the war onie ettle ti mak up sic a

1. _Thir_ an _thae_ is follaed bi the singular verb. The logical wey ti
extrapolate this for expository Scots wad be: _thir is_ an _thae is_, like
Lorimer (maistly) dis.

2. Thir an Thae can be uised wi'oot a follaein noun, the same as English
'thers' an 'those'.

It'll dae me, oniewey!

Lorimer disna seem ti be fairly consistent here. A wee scance throu his
version gies:

'Thir is the men at fallows divisive courses' (Jude, p. 418 - scunner at he
disna uise verse numbers).

'Thir men is walls wantin the watter' (2 Pet 2, p. 407)

But:

''Sin thir things ar ti gang ti wrack that gate...' (2 Pet 3, p. 408). This
ane is completely inconsistent wi his normal practics, tho, cause the 'ar'
is follaein a noun (things). In ither words, this uiss is _orra_ in compare
wi his _normal_ uiss! (Or orra in compare wi his orra uiss, gin we war
speakin 'Scots'.)

An wi'oot a follaein noun:

'Thir aa died, as they hed lived' (Heb. 11. p. 386, diacritics hippit.)
