Well, yes and no.  It makes for interesting times if you are into language,
and that makes up for occasional inconvenience.  I've relocated between and
have visited a number of English-speaking environments and have always found
"the little differences" most entertaining and enlightening.  They make you
think about features you would otherwise ignore or take for granted, and
such challenging observations help lead you to a deeper level of awareness,
alertness and sensitivity, not only with regard to English but in fact with
regard to any language variety, thus leading to seeing the larger picture.
So, as far as I am concerned, the benefits are long-term and by far outweigh
temporary annoyance.  Of course, the same can be said about cultural
differences.
