Caro Luciano, Ron e amigos Lowlanders

Como responsável pelas traduções em português; juntamente com Stan Levinson;

Dear Lowlanders,

This message is addressed to the Portuguese speakers of Lowlands-L only,
therefore it's needless to translate the whole letter.

It is just a way to express my gratitude and inviting them to visit the
Portuguese version of Lowlands Talk as well as uttering that any suggestions
are welcome in order to improve the translations.

Naturally, everybody is welcome to have a look at the Portuguese version of
Lowlands Talk. (Come awa ben! =)

Reinhard F. (RON) Hahn:

(Sorry for my deficient Portuguese.)

*By no chance your Portuguese is deficient. Far from it, it is (Quoting now
Luciano de Souza) with ''Joy and Sadness'' that we have the chance to see a
foreigner speaking Portuguese so wonderfully well. With sadness, many people
in Brazil are far from such level of *proficiency* in their own native
language, that is, Portuguese.

** Ora Pois, Ron! We all loved your Lisbon accent!=)

My greetings to all. A special thanks to Reinhard *Ron* , Stan Levinson and
Mathieu van Woerkom.

Ron, is there any language you can't speak, read or write fluently?

"Deficient Portuguese" my eye!

Thanks, Criostóir. Yes, I'm afraid it's tons and tons and tons, and a
single lifetime is barely enough to catch a glimpse of the treasures in the
trove.

Oh, come off it, chaps! <upper-class British mode off> The deficiencies
were staring me in the eye when I looked at last night's message this
morning. Reynaldo and our other Brazilian and Portuguese friends are merely
too polite and too supportive to rub them in.

> ** Ora Pois, Ron! We all loved your Lisbon accent!=)

:) Yeah, my Brazilian friends in Israel used to find my "accent" hilarious
and would nickname me "Antonio" with a put-on, exaggerated Iberian "accent"
([ɐ˜'tɔ:niu], imitating a Portuguese immigrant fresh off the boat in São
Paolo). Later on it became more interesting when I lived in a part of
Fremantle, Western Australia, where Madeiran immigrants predominated.

Reynaldinho, you *are* one of my star subscribers and collaborators, don't
even have to try so hard. :) Your efforts for "Lowlands Talk" are
especially appreciated.

Abraços!
Reinhard/Ron
