Beste liëglanners,

The Dutch word "wad" for a mud flat, "gué" in French, "guado" in Italian, is
indeed a
derivative of the verb "waden" (D), meaning "to walk through shallow
water"."Waden"
itself is a cognate of Latin "vadere" (to go...like : "Je vais" in French or
"Vado" in
Italian).
