Welcome to Lowlands-L, Aslam, and thanks for being the first of our
subscribers in Pakistan to become "vocal"!

Siraiki (a.k.a. Seraiki, Saraiki, Riasiti, Bahawalpuri, Multani, Southern
Panjabi) is just one of many Indo-Aryan languages of Southern Asia, thus one
in a multitude of languages that, like the Lowlands languages, are a part of
the Indo-European family. In fact, most languages of the region, with the
exception of Altaic, Sino-Tibetan and Dravidian languages, are
Indo-European, some of the internationally better-known ones being Sanskrit,
Urdu/Hindi, Panjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Nepali, Sinhalese,
Balochi, Kashmiri, Pashto. Sindhi, and, outside the area, Romany.
Unfortunately, Siraiki is not very well known in the West, which is
surprising considering that it is spoken by many people, some estimates
being as high as 30 million.

Best regards!
Reinhard/Ron
