> The name appears to be northern, because it contains _-pp-_ (which

Hi Ron,
I know the word "kappeln", it means to mix (V/ Me goan de koart"n
kappeln = E: We 'll gone mix the cards)
V: Kipkap = E: a mixture of flesh.
V: Kipp'n (kepp'n)= E: to renew, to become, to originate.

Hi all,

Ron, your kibbel kabbel game sounds like 'kennetjie' that boys played
here.
One stick is put into a groove and another (longer) stick is used to hit
the
first.

The word 'kibbel' means to quarrel/bicker/negotiate in Afrikaans as
well.

Groete,
Elsie Zinsser

Elsie,

> The word 'kibbel' means to quarrel/bicker/negotiate in Afrikaans as well.

Also Dutch _kibbelen_, _kibbelaar_ 'bickerer', _kibbelarij_
'squabbling', and _kibbelpartij_ '(children's) squabble'.

Groet,
Reinhard/Ron
