Dag almal,

Nee, Ron, ons sê nie in Afrikaans "Vort maar, ossewa".
Ons sal wel sê "Neuk maar aan!', en dis nie onwelvoeglik nie, bloot 'Gaan
maar jou gang'.

Daar word wel na 'n ossewa verwys as 'n motorkar moeilik draai.
Bv: 'Sonder kragstuur draai die kar soos 'n ossewa'.

Haai, Elsie, en dankie, soos gewoonlik, vir jou help (en vir jou
verdraagsaamheid wat my Saksies-Afrikaanse flamenco op klompe betref)!

Hier is nog 'n idiomatiese vraag vir jou/julle.

As 'n mens vraag: "Hoe gaan dit?", kan jy antwoord: "Dankie. Kan nie
beter nie", nè?  Kan 'n mens ook sê: "Kan/kon nie beter wees nie" (soos
Engels _Couldn't be better_, Nedersaksies _Kun nich beter wesen/syn_ en
Duits _(Es) könnte nicht besser sein_)?  Kortom, is _Kan nie beter nie_
kort vir _Kan nie beter wees nie" (sonder werkwoord)?  Of is dit 'n
besondere woordvoering, en kan 'n mens dit anders gebruik, soos *"Kan
nie durer nie" (in plaas van "Kan nie durer wees nie")?
