Subject: Off Topic - help with def. art. variations with blemner
consonant s

Hello all,

First, I apologize for the off-topic subject, but I was hoping to get
some
advice/help from those much more familiar with this subject than I am.

I am trying to determine why the definite article in a particular
language
changes its form (and pronunciation) before blemner consonants - I think
it
may be just a mater of phonetics/phonology more than a matter of the
actual
language concerned (Bohairic Coptic), I know the blemner consonants can
do
some odd things, but this one's just eluding me completely!

If someone who is more familiar with the field of phonetics and
phonology
can e-mail me off list, I'd appreciate it - We can go into the details
of
what I'm trying to figure out then

Thanks very much,

Mike S
