Yes, quite so.  I was traveling (notice one "l" because I'm Texan) in
Belgium in 1970, and I noticed that the roadsigns giving the name of the
town or village were in both French and Dutch.  A few were somewhat silly
(at least to me not being one of the persecuted minorities in Belgium),
e.g., the little village named Marc - Mark.  Since that's my own name I
remember it well.
