Yep - got that feeling as well!!

To me it sounded very much like lowland type folksongs - if the lyrics were
changed from Estonian to say Sassisch, they'd fit right in as far as the
melodies go!

There are some that to me sound very "Scandinavian" as well - there are
obvious borrowings from the Russian tradition as well.

Obviously an interesting mix of influences as from what might be expected
from what was once a crossroads of various cultures.

All in all, some pretty cool music - worth a listen!
