Subject: Traditions

Hi All

I've only ever heard the version:

Ring a ring of roses
a pocketful of posies
atishoo, atishoo
we all fall down

Is the 'ring a round a Rosie' the American version?

If it is then it sounds like they had the same source,
but split with time. I'm going to stick with the 1665
plague version. If my version 'developed' into what it
is now, then there are too many coincidences with the
plague for it not to have anything to do with it. And
besides the plague story was what I was always told,
and I don't want my childhood memory destroyed! ;)

Gary
