"Ay, A hae ti agree wi Maister Fortune - it's whiles gey hard ti sit yirsel
doun an scrieve awa in the Scots. But it's a thing at hes ti be dune, juist
- uise it or loss it 's the auld auld sang."

Well, tha isnae somethin tha happins ilka morn - somebodie agreein wi me!
;-) Ye are o coorse quite richt, we huvtae uise it, an keep it alive and
kicking. It's sik a pairt oh whae we are as fowk, it'd been a sin no tae.

"A think Scots is in fer better health as it's been for a lang while nou..."

Yit again, Ah'd agree wi ye, but we still need mair recognition o th langage
as juist tha - a langage. And Ah no juist talkin aboot Europe, but back
hame. How monie Scots fowk are ashamed tae uise guid Scots words; how monie
o us hud it skelped oot us at school? Ah ken Ah did! Mah faither is keen tae
keep tha langage going, and alwayis mad shuir tae uise it as much as
possible. Ah'd dae tha same as a bairn anlie tae hae tha dominie belt us fur
no uising guid Inglis.

Ah'd alse agree tha fowk shuid ha a keek at Wir Ain Leid, anither guid guide
tae Scots. Ah hard tha Colin Wilson hud brought oot a buik - Tha Luath Scots
Learner, but Ah've got nae idea whit it's like. He's got a guid wab site,
but Ah cannae mind tha address! ;-)

Oniwise, ah the best, and mind, Duns does Ding Ah!

James Fortune.
