Moin, moin,

There's been quite a lot of talk about politics regarding Afrikaans. I
now have a linguistic question. Afrikaans is a language that has lost or
levelled out most of its inflectional system. Yet an adjective
inflection in -e appears to remain. As far as I can see it doesn't
follow any typically Germanic pattern of adjective inflection (strong,
weak, plural, singular, cases etc.). Can anyone explain to me the nature
of the Afrikaans adjectival inflection.
