No, not all.  I mean that sugar belongs in iced tea, not in corn bread.
That doesn't rule out putting it in other things - coconut cake, for
instance.  Pecan pie should be made with Karo syrup.

Probably, but it's one of those trendy things that Northerners do - combine
elements from two cuisines and say that it's the way it should be done.

Now I'm getting hungry! :)

I see!  Well, but I'm happy to see that at least *you* aren't culinarily
self-righteous.  ;-)

Hope you've had a bite to eat in the meantime, something with sugar.  Some
glucose level raising action may have been in order there.  ;-)
